Instructional Standards

Fairlawn Christian Academy is committed to excellence in its academic program. The students are taught in the traditional teacher-based, classroom setting. Textbook selection and judgments are made with priority being given to Christian texts unless the secular textbook is of superior academic quality. The curriculum for each grade level is designed to meet and exceed the goals of the Virginia public education system as defined in the State Standards of Learning. An important difference, however, is in our adherence to the Word of God as the final authority for all matters of faith and conduct.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to teach children all the required educational skills and learning tools they will need to smoothly transition to the next grade level.  Currently, we are using the A Beka Christian School Curriculum.  This curriculum is widely used and highly regarded by Christian educators and home school parents alike.  It is designed to incorporate Christian ideals and values into every aspect of learning.

The A Beka curriculum has proven to be a superior study program that will allow your child to excel in their educational development.  Children who complete this curriculum routinely show a distinct advantage in in placement levels over those educated in the public school system.

We are also a member of ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) the largest Christian School Accrediting Agency in the Country.
